probably shouldn't be in the beginners category
probably shouldn't be in the beginners category
thank you for the complement. :) when i saw the type of drawing that won the pokemon challenge beginner category, I noticed that the beginner category is more up my alley. so that is why i submitted it as a beginner.
Love pretty much everything about this
Thank you! :D
This is really great but you should probably enter the open category
Heh, I guess I improved enough since my last submission for me to enter the open category instead of beginner, but I don't know if I can still change the category, considering that I already uploaded it
(Sorry for broken English)
Love this! Never would have thought of Oregon Trail.
Thanks! I had SO much fun!
Nice Work mate, but ALDK is sorta right.
You probably don't want to include "NewResolution" in the title of the image, as because it contains "NewRes" it makes you look like your are entering into the open and beginner category, which may or may not disqualify you, but is not really worth the risk.
Thank you mate, I repaired it now
Really nice piece! make sure you include a link to a mid-development image as well as credit the original creators of the piece.
Okay got you! I will put a link to the image when i can thanks you! *wipes sweats off head* i can fully rest now XD
EDIT: okay link made (thank you so much again btw)
Great stuff make sure to link Nintendo in the description or he can't use your image.
thanks for the heads up
Really great stuff! Make sure you include a link to a mid-developement image as well as crediting the original creators of the game, otherwise you'll be disqualified, and this is way too nice to be disqualified.
holy crap i'm a jerk for not doing that first! thanks for the reminder man
I really like this piece of work, think it is a really nice style, very clean.
Only issue is that it may not actually qualify for the Cotm. Initially for the challenge I wanted to draw toejam & Earl from the Sega Genesis, however seeing that the game was released in 1991 I posted a comment on the youtube video for this cotm asking if I could draw anything from the genesis (as it is fourth generation) or if it had to have been released in or before 1990.
Jazza quickly responded back with:
+yellowfishstick the 4th gen is a guide, but it's specifically got to be pre 1990
If he releases another video that changes this then that'll be cool, but I figured if I let you know early then you at least have plenty of time to take action (whether thats asking jazza yourself or drawing something else)
Thanks for the info man! i'm gonna ask him and if i cant i guess i'll just take this one off the cotm and draw another one xD i'm lucky there's still time and that you showed up to alert me xD
You need to increase the size of your canvas on sketchbook pro. 3000x3000 pixels is a good size to start from, but obviously bigger or smaller depending on what you are drawing. The larger your canvas the more detail you can add, as with a small canvas you'll find that the image quickly becomes pixelated. You will also want to change the resolution of your image to about 300 pixels/inch, allowing for smoother lines.
The image itself has tons of potential, and you clearly have skill an artist, its just unfortunately limited by its poor resolution. I suggest looking up toonboxstudio's tutorial for solid lines on how to set up your canvas in sketchbookpro.
Also make sure you save your image as both a .tiff file and a .JPEG file separately. The JPEG file will automatically merge your layers together, whilst the .tiff file will allow you to comeback later and edit the layers. You should NOT be manually merging your layers together in the .tiff file (obviously this is not a strict rule because sometimes you should merge maybe one or two layers together, just not all of them).
You still have plenty of time, it is certainly possible for you to change the tags and use this image as a mid-development piece whilst you then boost the size of your canvas and refine it.
Say What??? I get what ur trying to say and I am very thankful. However, I do not know how to do so...... what do I do if I merged my layers??
